Hey, Everyone!
Above is Dean Austin, a former Spurs player. Also, I realize the Hoddle is probably the only way I keep track of what day it is, so expect a typo in the weeks to come.
Day's Parade
My sisters and I got a habit of listening to the podcast Who? My older sister is no longer able to listen to it on her commute weekly since. If you're looking to unwind with a few people talking (and making fun of) celebrities, it's a fun podcast but let's go specifically to the episode that dropped this Tuesday.
I 'd invite you to check in at 57:55 of the episode as an introduction to today's ramble, but if you don't: hosts Bobby Finger and Lindsey Weber played a game celebrating Weber 's birthday where they visited Celebnetworth.net, a place that is not only a database of vaguely famous people, but also rates certain people according to how famous they are. That would usually be boring, but this website has a very unusual algorithm so it is a very fun activity to guess who's ranked above someone else. (That's why I'm asking you to listen since Finger picked some fun dates.)
I hope you'll forgive this very long introduction, but for today's ramble, I'm going to share what the strange algorithm of celebnetworth.net revealed for my birthday September 2.
1. Hayley LeBlanc, youTube star, 11 years old!
2 – 6. More Stars on YouTube
7. Keanu Reeves, somebody I finally recognize (and didn't know I was sharing a birthday with ... pleasant surprise)
8. DJ Zedd
9 and 10. More Stars on YouTube
11. 11. Salma Hayek, who should perhaps be higher
12. 12. Ross Smith, a star on Facebook (which I didn't know was one thing about)
13–22. Other stars on the internet, including actor Mark Harmon of The West Wing and NCIS at 19
23. 23. Lala Kent of Vanderpump Rules fame, the only person I 'd like to share an anniversary with other than Lisa Vanderpump
I could go on but I think I made the point and added plenty of my own opinion. Nonetheless, I have a parting question: Who's using this site to make the rankings look like that?
Tl;dr: celebnetworth.net is a curious website, so who is it? Weekly is a formidable podcast.
